Our Processes | AVKO – Specialist Paint Company
At AVKO we pride ourselves on our processes and ensuring we deliver the best quality specialist paint to the whole of the UK.
What we do
AVKO produce, supply and distribute specialist paints, primers, lacquers, varnishes and stains to the professional industrial sector. These products are ideal for plastic, glass, metal and wood. AVKO also offer a complimentary sample matching service which allows clients to match the colour of almost any item. Sample matching requests can take 5-10 working days for our production department to process.
ISO Certified Company
As an ISO certified company, AVKO must take all orders via fax or email. We are unable to accept verbal orders over the telephone. This enables us to maintain a continuously high standard of service for all of our customers.
Due to the wide range of colours that we offer, we do not hold mixed colours in stock. Unlike other domestic ‘off the shelf’ paint retailers, all of our paint is mixed on site to order. We ask our customers to bear in mind that the deadline for next day delivery orders is 10:00am. All orders received before 10.00am are processed the same day and dispatched by courier that afternoon whilst any orders placed after 10.00am will be processed the next working day.
1. Order Received
Once we have received your order, a copy is provided to the production floor where the paint is mixed as required.
4. Your paint has been made
Once your products have been created, they are labelled and packed carefully by hand so that they are ready to dispatch. At this point the order is complete and courier labels are produced.
7. Regarding your order
At AVKO we are extremely proud of our customer service. If you have any questions about our ordering process or any technical enquiries, please contact us and a member of our team will be happy to help you. Our office hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
Please note, we only sell our products to trade professionals as the majority of our products need to be spray applied. Unfortunately our products are not suitable for domestic use.
2. Dip Card & Colour Checking
Following this, a dip card is produced from the tin of paint. The paint on the dip card is then left to dry before the colour is checked by eye in a day light box and also by spectrometer for approval from our production team.
We do our utmost to ensure that all orders received by 10am are dispatched that same day. However, this is not always possible. Some colours take longer than others to match and on occasion can require an additional day to perfect. AVKO is committed to providing its customers with the highest quality products, thus will not dispatch an order until it is exactly as requested. Should this be the case, we will inform the customer and do our utmost to dispatch the order the following day.
Corrections will be made to the paint if the colour is not exact after its first pour. Once the colour is correct, the relevant additives are combined with the paint to produce the requested finish.
6. FedEx Collection
The day’s orders are then collected at 3pm by FedEx.
FedEx offers a next day delivery and timed delivery service for the UK. For orders placed on Friday, they also offer Saturday deliveries if requested. UK Mail can offer a 48 hour delivery service to Ireland.
